Shelley Simmons-Bloom, Founder

Shelley Simmons-Bloom, an expert in brand and CSR communications strategies, leads Positivity Communications. Shelley has more than 18 years experience working for two pioneering, purpose-driven beauty brands: The Body Shop and Aveda, the Art & Science of Pure Flower and Plant Essences.

At The Body Shop she was inspired by and worked closely with its groundbreaking founder, Dame Anita Roddick. As a global leader of all aspects of communications, training people at all levels was one of her key responsibilities. She also led communications for a UK non-profit group early in her career. She currently serves as Chair of CONNECT NYC, a grassroots organization dedicated to preventing interpersonal violence, and she was a Board member of Compassion in World Farming while living in the UK.  

This rare combination of experience has enabled Shelley to combine a commercially-driven mindset with a deep understanding of purpose-driven organizations, and small businesses. 

Originally from London, UK, Shelley now lives in New York City with her husband, Matt, and their adored cat, Bunny.
